Bali thrives with lot of Hinduism culture, vegan food, conscious clothing, yoga, cultural dance and songs, eco-friendly home decor and much more.

We visited Bali in February, a rainy season, but we got better prices for flight and accommodation

Below is our guide to explore the unique experience in Bali

We covered seven days in Ubud and rest seven in Canggu. We also packed lentis, rice, Indian spice and a a pressure cooker. We cooked in the evenings, so that we could satiate our Indian spice cravings.

Our travel preferences are self-exploratory, we seldomly look out for social media recommendation. So you might find this article helpful, if you like to travel like us i.e go with the flow.

Below is our exploration in Ubud:
Yoga & Spirituality : Ubud florishes with Yoga and meditation classes. People from all over the world flock to here to become certified Yoga teacher or learn meditation. If you would like to experience Yoga in fresh air, around soothing sounds of water, and calming Koi fishes, Ubud is the place to be.

Yoga Barn Bali

  • Yoga Barn : I took 1.5 hours meditation class, that costed around $40, and it focused on cyclic breathings.
Yoga Barn has a new schedule everyday, so if you want to try out something new, beyond yoga and meditation, checkout their website and experience something unique.

Shopping Rattan Bedroom Furniture : Bali is furniture paradise. They have aced the art of making products from shells, wood, glass, ceramics, rattan and macrame threads. It was a visual delight to be strolling past the shops in Ubud. Every shop had a master piece and priced at incredibly low prices.

Temples and Cultural Dance : Ubud is culturally very close to their Hinduism roots. Tourists can only visit the temples from the outside, and each temple has an entry fee of about $7, tourist entry is barred due to various reasons.
In the evenings you can visit any temple premises for the Balinese cultural dance and music show, the music is meditative.

Stay at AirBNB to experience local culture : I usually prefer to stay at local AIR BNBs, so that I can interact with the locals to understand their culture more deeply. The AIR BNBs at Ubud, offer breakfast with wide variety of local fruits and complimentary “Kopi” or coffee. Per day stay can cost as low at $10, with quality stay.
