We like to hike around Aravalli, on Sundays. This place is Ubeshwar Ji, 30 kms away from Udaipur.
Sundays are meant for outdoor early mornings, breaking the usual work routine and a disconnect from the city, people and other miscellaneous activities. We take an early morning bike ride or an afternoon hike to nearby places, to breathe in nature and exhale the weekday work stress.
This week of February 2024, I had this idea of making our tea up in the mountains. I’m too frugal to purchase a burner, so we tried making the tea with the available natural resources around.
We packed 3 cups, tea leaves, milk and biscuits to enjoy the wilderness and the last leg of winter.
The view is breathtaking, the city is almost hidden in the mountain. All the way around you can see the blue sky and the dry mountains with birds chirping.
If you are also looking out to make tea in the open, then follow our recommendation
- Use a corner, so that the wind doesn’t blow up your fire
- Collect stones and place them close enough for your vessel to stay
- Collect dry twigs and birches , plenty of them before lighting the fire, dry grass is a good catalyst.
- Douse the fire post cooking, you don’t want to be responsible for forest fire
- Clean the place after cooking, do not leave your trash behind
